All of the big and little details that make a boat what it is.

We have had a lot of fun, adventure, and relaxation taking trips and cruising on our 34 foot trawler Esoteric. We are convinced that this is a great way of life for us. But....we don't really have time to travel in big chunks and we'd certainly like to greatly extend our cruising range. We also feel much more capable of handling boats in general than we did 2 years ago. So, one day we noticed an article on an "Express" trawler in a boating magazine.  Hmmmmm, there's an idea. Could we have the same spacious accommodations and usability with maybe twice or even three times the speed when necessary.

We did research and more research and finally got focused in on a newly designed 33 foot Albin which seemed ot fit our needs. We pondered and looked and didn't quite settle. Then, quite recently,  we stopped at a boat show on the way to a dance. We looked again at the Albin and some others that were certainly not our cup of tea. Then we spotted this odd looking craft set among a group of more standard trawlers. We looked and talked and fell love with the Endeavour TrawlerCat 36!

Endeavour only builds a few of this special breed of Cat each year and ours will not be ready until May of 2000. Our date was moved up from August and now we had a lot to decide right away! You can find out a lot more about this interesting and innovative family owned business by checking out their web site.

On January 5th, 2000 we went again to the factory to decide on many options.  The results are shown on the specifications page and there are still a lot more decisions to make. Makes a house look simple! We had another great sea trial on the boat of a gracious recent customer. Sea Dance was born and delivered on June 1, 2000. We had a great shakedown week at a marina near the factory and then made the 100 mile voyage home to Punta Gorda.

We chose SeaDancer as the name for our new baby.

Here is Sea Dancer at South Seas Plantation - one of our favorite haunts. The rest of the story is told by photos (what Jean does so well) in the pages of this site.
