Some Comments About Gorilla
C1
The 60 sequences on this CD theme four of the hardest calls on the C1 list, and use them from many non-standard positions. The CD is organized as follows:
Tracks 1 24: Percolate and Tally Ho
Tracks 25 33: Counter Rotate
Tracks 34 44: Vertical Tags
Tracks 45 60: Generalized sequences on all of the four calls mentioned above.
We make the following suggestions to improve your squares success rate with Percolate and Tally Ho.
There are many calls that begin with a form of circulate - circulate, ½ circulate, or circulate 1-½. We recommend dancing any of these calls by having everyone in the square do the proper circulate, then stand still until everyone else finishes their circulate. This helps everyone to see the intermediate setup before proceeding with the rest of the call.
There are two reasons why this is especially critical when dancing these two calls from non-standard positions.
Hence, its always a good idea to exercise discipline and wait for everyone to complete the circulates before proceeding with the remainder of the call. Dancer's success rate will improve dramatically if they can see the setup in which theyre working. Do your best to help them.
